GPU Accelerated Rendering. That is all.

Get Lightroom 3 Beta for now, its free and really just as good and stable as 2.6. Grab the Elements and Photoshop Trials too and see what you think of each application like someone said before.

I think most has already been said, but I just wanted to tell you how much I love Lightroom. I use it probably 90% of the time, with the rest being spent in CS4. LR does all the basic/necessary things. I just use CS4 for the more advanced stuff. Elements is like a (in my opinion) silly mix of the two latter.

It's not as good as Lightroom when it comes to organizing your pictures, and it's not as advanced as CS4, it's simply a mix. BUT, it has a VERY attractive price. It's in no way a bad program, on the contrary, it gives you a lot of bang for the buck, I'm just saying that LR and CS4 is a more powerful combination.

I'd like to add that you can see people who know all of these programs very well doing all sorts of work on http://youtube.com. It really is a great resource for seeing what the programs can do. It really helped me make my decision to go with Lightroom.

I also found the site http://lightroomkillertips.com It has some great tips and videos on Lightroom.

If you're like me, and had no real experience using this type of software, the internet is a fantastic, free training tool.
