Looks like theres going to be an even smaller Olympus m4/3 camera tomorrow. Supposedly it will also have a flash.

I've been following the rumours of that too. Certainly interesting as unless I'm missing something, it seems to have everything the E-Px has but smaller and with flash. The predicted low price I'm sure will really help with sales too. This could be the mainstream push. Will need to go over the specs in more details when formally announced.

We'll have to wait and see how the size impacts the handling, although the E-Px weren't exactly stellar themselves if you want to do anything fancy. The only thing I'd say I miss on it is the retro styling.

It is official now.

Very similar with E-P1 on the spec, but the body is smaller, and the control is more similar to compact camera.

price is quite good too $599 with 14-42 kit lens, and might drop to around 550.

It has flash and built-in stabilization.

Good move from Oly, I think it should do it sooner last year.

Off course fans that expect even better camera will be disappointed, this is not for them but for people who want to jump from compact to interchangeable lens system.

As far as I can tell, the news prematurely broke, so technically it still isn't official. We have to wait a little more to be absolutely 100% definitely sure.

Thinking more about the new lenses, I'm finding it hard to be very interested in them. From previously shown images, the 14-150 is a bit big. The 9-18 is more interesting, as using that over the equivalent on a Canikon DSLR you at least get sensor stabilisation. The underwater housing could be interesting in the longer term.

Whatever this new camera is, as a recent EP2 owner, I'm going to be pretty p.o.'d that Oly is putting a built-in flash on a camera that's smaller and CHEAPER than the EP1/2. Looks like the new cam will have pretty much everything the EP1/2 have, but at half the price of the EP2.

Less controls on the back. How much of an impact that makes to handling remains to be seen. Again, I do like the styling of E-Px over that of the PL, which looks much like any other random camera.

No doubt the styling of the EP1/2 is nicer. BUT, if you can squeeze a flash on the EPL1, why not on the EP1/2?

Either Oly is not thinking through before they release their cameras or they are doing what Apple did/does with iPhone - release a "smart" phone without the most simple things (such as cut and paste, landscape keyboard, 3G) and then offer a new model with the simple things a few months later.
