:D Off to Alaska in May and would like to get a feel as in what I should be bringing with me!.I have XSI Rebel,(with kit lens) & 70-300mm IS canon ,and a Tokina 12-24mm wide angle lens..Anything else i should be looking for? :? (besides dry and clear weather)..Thanks..

You'll need to tell us what sort of environments you're visiting and what you're hoping to photograph! Is it possible you'll be caught in rain or splashed from nearby water? If so, some protective filters and a waterproof bag would be useful.

I will be traveling to alaska in 2 years. I am taking ALL my camera gear. Since we are spending 4-6 weeks through canada and alaska there is lots to see.


make sure you have plenty of batteries and SD/CF cards!!!

I think those 2 lenses will do fine for most situations... besides that..

1) You should see a lot of rain.. especially if you are along the coast...

2) If you move inland its gonna be cold so bring early winter and winter wear.

3) For both locations some light gloves... ocean wind will be cool and your hands will feel the effects after a bit.. inland its still gonna be cool/cold depending how far north and how far inland.

4) Rain gear.. for you and the camera.

In the end you can expect less rain in the interior but colder temps... warmer but more rain along the coast at this time of year.... wont be as much rain as the fall though by far.
