Hi Guys, I did a bit of research on SD cards. I am planning to get the Canon G9. And for whatever reason the Sandisk Extreme III doesn't get as good of a review as the Ultra.

What's the back story on this? Is the Extreme III not as reliable?

Hi Shiva, what are people saying that's putting you off?

I personally have several older Ultra II cards and they're fine - they're also great value compared to the newer ones. I suspect it comes down to people paying more for the Extreme III, but not noticing any performance benefit on their particular cameras. I doubt there's any reliability issues as SanDisk is a very respectable company - but do watch out for fakes on ebay!

I have one of these cards amd they are really good, and the transfer speed is great. Also there was a firmware update for the 510 for pure transfer speeds.

9/10

Are a tad pricey!!

Relevant Infromation:
A minimum of 20MB/sec sequential write and read speed, which allows for faster capturing of large image files to the card, faster viewing of images and faster data transfer rates.
Features ESP Technology (Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing Technology), which provides best-in-class performance.
SanDisk Extreme III SD cards are tested in extreme temperature ranges from -13 to +185 degrees Fahrenheit so that they can be used to shoot photos in any weather condition

I have 3 2G Sandisk III, (1 SD and 2 CF) and they have been totally reliable.

I only get Sandisk form my camera.

8 GB Ultra IV
2 GB Ultra II (for firmware update) - I did mine today and it went flawless.

Whatever SanDisk type of media and version you get it will be tip-top.
