Camera Labs

I'm a 50D user, and I'm looking to get a new tripod. I'm getting sick looking back at the number of cheap tripods which are too flimsy to hold my kit. Thus, I'm currently looking at the Slik 714CF II with a Manfrotto 486RC2 ballhead. Any comments on this combination? The heaviest combination I will have in years will only be my EOS 50D + Battery Grip, 580EX II and possibly a lens in the weight range of the 100-400L.

comments and suggestions on other tripods / heads are welcomed. Please give me your advice!

I chose http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/483925-REG/Giottos_MT9371_MT_9371_Aluminum_Tripod_Legs.html for my tripod and http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=GIMH1300657&N=0&InitialSearch=yes for my ballhead. Haven't had a lot of time with it due to it being so cold here but so far I love it. Not too heavy and feels incredibly sturdy.

I also just ordered a Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom so I am anxiously awaiting it.
