Took this tonight with the 70-300mm VR on a Nikon D300. Tripod Mounted, 1/100, F5.6, ISO200, VR Off. RAW processed in Lightroom 2. Post Processing: cropped, bit of clarity added and sharpened.

And thats exactly what not to do in the Lens Gallery, add clarity and sharpness Wink that way its not the lens performance but your PP skills.

I'm getting pretty good sharpness over 200mm with my copy. Here's an original photo and crop of a F1 car at 195mph:





210mm, F7.1, 1/500th sec, ISO 200 on a D90

Who says only macro can get good pictures of butterflies is wrong, my 300mm was plenty, even wide open. just a pity I am missing small top part of the wings on both
