Took this tonight with the 70-300mm VR on a Nikon D300. Tripod Mounted, 1/100, F5.6, ISO200, VR Off. RAW processed in Lightroom 2. Post Processing: cropped, bit of clarity added and sharpened. _________________ Nikon D300, Tokina 12-24mm F4, Nikkor 50mm F1.8D, Nikkor 70-300mm F4.5-5.6G VR

And thats exactly what not to do in the Lens Gallery, add clarity and sharpness that way its not the lens performance but your PP skills.

I'm getting pretty good sharpness over 200mm with my copy. Here's an original photo and crop of a F1 car at 195mph:
210mm, F7.1, 1/500th sec, ISO 200 on a D90 _________________ Nikon D90 with 18-105mm kit lens, 35mm f1.8, 70-300mm VR, SB-600, MBD-80 and lovely new Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 - mmmm! |

Who says only macro can get good pictures of butterflies is wrong, my 300mm was plenty, even wide open. just a pity I am missing small top part of the wings on both
