I'm at my mums house at the moment and was looking through the stuff I left behind. I rediscovered a flash unit, I think it was passed to me for use with my brother's film SLR decades ago.

I'll do pics of it later, but the connection seems to be by sync connector. I recall older flashes may have high voltages on their connectors which could fry newer cameras. Does that only apply to the hotshoe or does it also apply to the sync connector?

I think this is a guide calculator. Set the lower pointer to the ASA, and the top relates aperture to distance.
