The shots are of random things I found on the kitchen table and was just trying out some new techniques. The one of the avocado is a mix of three shots stacked together while the candle is just a single shot but with adjustments made in the cameras sharpness, contrast, and saturation via "picture style". The avocado focal points are at both ends and the middle and was stacked together using CombineZM. All shots were taken at iso 100 f/8.0 on a 85mm prime (f1. canon lens.

The purpose of this post is to get feedback on shooting technique and skill. Any advice and comments is most welcome. I am practicing these techniques and once I feel good enough will take it out into real world scenarios to hopefully get memorable shots. Keep in mind that appropriate composition and subject were not the focus of this exercise but technique. If it turns out that you all just think they look like normal pictures then that would simply prove that the technique behind the shots are a waste of time and would save me more time. But if someone out there can see more then pls let me know.

I was going to make a comment regarding composition, but you said that composition wasn't your focus, just technique. I'm not quite sure what technique you are referring to. What do you mean by 'three shots stacked together'?

Panasonic G3: 9-18mm, 14mm, 20mm, 45mm

I took three shots of the same things. Ap, shutter speed and iso were all the same. The only thing that I changed was the focus point. The first being the tip of the avocado, the second the middle, and the third the butt of it. I took the three shots and "stacked" them together to make one shot. see ref.

In order to have a basis of comparison to combining images I took a single shot of the candle. same light conditions, same ap, same iso. I was just trying to figure out if it was worth the trouble of stacking images in the sense that anyone would even notice or wonder how that shot was accomplished etc etc etc and most importantly if stacking should be left to astro, macro, and landscape photography.
