Hi folks.

My D80 came with the standard Nikon black & yellow strap and I'd been using that here with no problems. Then I went to Corsica for my holidays and discovered the strap turned to sandpaper when worn around a bare neck in hot weather. I've just accepted delivery of my new Op/Tech strap and first impressions are good. It seems far better as far as materials and construction is concerned, and the built-in stretchiness of it's neoprene means the camera also seems to weigh less. £17 well spent I think.

Now I need to look into a replacement front lens cap because the one that comes as standard with the 'kit' 18-135mm lens is a joke. I can't reliably remove or replace it with the lens hood attached due to the design of the finger grips. Anyway, maybe that's for another thread, lol.

I also have an Op/Tech strap for my D80. The Nikon strap never came out of the wrapper in my case.

Could someone advise which model of Optech strap is the best one to get for a D40. Checking them out at Warehouse Express there are quite a few models: http://www.warehouseexpress.com/?/photo ... ptech.html

In your discussion are you talking about the "Professional Series Straps" by Optech that are listed at the top of the Warehouse Express webpage that I linked to? :?

I already hate my Nikon strap an now I can see why Phil Lee said that it never came out of it's wrapper. And this is just with a light D40 and it's small 18-55mm kit lense.

I bought the Pro series (one listed at the top of that page) and it fits my D80 fine.

I have the Pro strap at the top of the page you're linking to. In fact I bought it from WE too. You won't regret it.
