Is this a good tripod and head? I have read on the forums and other sites that Manfrotto is the best. However, they have so many models and heads, it is almost more difficult than lense selection. I am into night, macro, and landscape photography.

Manfrotto 3021Bpro Legs
Manfrotto 322RC2 Grip ballhead with quick release
Price = $279 (for both)

I really do not want to spend more. In fact less would be welcome, but I dont want to skimp.

After reading some reviews Im thinking of going with the much lighter and less expensive Giottos: Anyone have an opinion on this set:

Giottos MH 5001 Head
Giottos MT9242 Legs

Thanks!

There was also a group test of tripods done by Trusted Reviews recently. Check out the Tripod Group Test thread.

Thanks Bob and Gordon, those references helped a lot. I am to the decision on the legs Im going with the 190XBPro.
The head is the question. I know you like the 468 MG Gordon; however that is pricey for me. I was thinking of the 488RC44. Do either of you know of anyone that had a strong opion as to why I should stay away from it?
Im looking to spend no more then $200 (US) on the head.

Well after reading a ton of opinions and reviews I ordered the
Manfrotto 190XPROB and a 808RC4 head.
