Samsungs F1 was possibly the most loved 1TB on the market, and its just been improved!

Now it has2 x 500GB platters instead of 3 x 334GB platters increasing density whilst keeping the spin speed at 7,200rpm with a 32MB cache.

The speeds improve a bit, to quite a bite over the F1 and is certainly more than welcome considering its practically the same price! (Ebuyer its £3 more or something!) It actually beats the 10,000RPM Western Digital Raptors in most (if not all actually) of the tests. Ace!

So if your in the market for a 1TB Drive, the Samsung F3 is the fastest and also cheapest of the new crop!

I'm considering buying 2 for photo storage and backup to replace the 2 500gb raid 0 and 1tb solution i have just now. Should improve speed, power, reliability and, not that it matters, but noise too haha.

Just got my 2 drives

Gonna hook them up tomorrow and raid 1 them. Gonna see if I can do it using the ICH10r controller instead of doing it within windows, so after re-installs the raid is still there.

All i need is another 3 and a 5 Drive SATA backplane and a RAID6 Card
