Does anyone use this lens for birding?
A friend of mine is buying one to use on birds, everyone would say its too short for wildlife, but on a crop body its an 400mm equivalent... I know the more the better, but 400mm doesnt seems to be THAT short

Does this mean you got a new toy? BTW what were your camera settings for the moon shot?

I posted these shots of a long haired tabby in the Wildlife and Pets section, but thought I'd put them here since they were both shot with the 55-250 IS.

Both were at the full 250mm, handheld at 1/60th f5.6 ISO 500 with IS on. The full size pics look much sharper than these uploaded to photobucket. I love this lens, but I'm saving for the 70-200 f4 L USM just to experience L glass.

Not as good as the rest but this was taken through a double pane window with a screen - so the lens does a good job.
