I'm not a 100% happy with the DA 15-50mm, mainly due to vignetting. I was happier with the 50-200mm, with better image quality and range versatility.

here. That combination truly matches the quality of film photography.
Pentax has launched the
smc P-DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 ED AL(IF), with a very interesting range, but I have no idea about the quality of the pictures.
Back to basics, three comments:
- Try and identify the kind of pictures you're planning to take: portraits, landscapes, sport, still photography... and select the lens accordingly. So you could start with a first lens, explore, then purchase another, and so on.
- Have a look at the bundles proposed by Pentax, body + lenses, and the special holidays season rebates. As rumors about future new products are growing, the price tag of K10D is very aggressive today.
- Don't forget about accessories, like a fast SD card, a flash, a remote control, a solid bag, a battery grip...
