Any bets it could be a Leica branded Panasonic GF1?

The advertising seems a little too dramatic for that.

Leica M9 - 18.2MP FF Rangefinder

Leica X1 - 12MP APS-C Rangefinder w/ fixed 24mm lens.

Ohh Lecia you tempt me so. I'd like that rangefinder, I also think Orsan might too :P

Possibly? If the GF1 rebranded into Leica would be very tempting.

@DD-I might be in the same boat I would like to get a Rangefinder (Except the price tag of its body & lenses are pricing of a Rolex Watches)

So...has anyone actually considered they might just come out with a lame, slightly-improved M8?

Just saying...

The brochure pfd for the M9 has already been leaked. As DD said, it's 18MP FF.

I've been wondering what a rangefinder is like to use in practice. Seeing the M8 pricing, I doubt I'll be picking up the M9 either, but if the X1 is cheap enough it could be interesting. Somehow I doubt that too.

Whoa: Only 585g body-weight of the M9  :!:
This will clearly be the lightest FF body around (disregarding film-bodies, that is).
And the MF Leica lenses are quite small too!
----
And who is doing/manufacturing the 18MP FF sensor? Any guestimate whether this is a Leica only design?

The M8's 1.3x crop sensor was a Kodak model, and it was a Leica exclusive too.
