Hi all,

I want to get some medium prints (12x12 max) done. Easy enough, but I want these prints to be matted (matting consists of mounting a photograph to a mat board into which an opening the size of the photograph has been cut. The photograph is attached to the back of the mat with framing or archival tape. Definition from luminous landscape), but not framed. Any ideas where I can get this done?

I think a matted photo is far more attractive as it isolates the image from the surrounding, and makes the viewer more attentive to the photograph. It will also allow me to carry my portfolio around in a folio case without having to worry about damaging the photographs and display them with a slightly more polished and professional appearance. I could also mount these on easels at trade shows.

I have no idea where you could get this done in your country, or mine (UK) as I always mount mine (for exhibition) myself.
If you want more details on this PM me, and I will try and explain what you need in the way of materials and how to do it.

Well, there is an art gallery locally that can do the matting, and I've found a couple of online guides as well. The trouble with the local gallery is that it is quite a ways from where I am living, and they don't do any type of digital work, i.e. I have to drop off the prints at the studio and have it framed, and pick it up 1 week later.

That's a waste! I much rather just upload the files, pick the matting type, and get it 1 week later in the mail.

Thanks for the offer, but from what I've seen, matting your own photos isn't for the feeble , I admire you for that, cus it looks really really hard and complicated!!!
