Shouldn't you be comparing the D300 or 50D against the K-7? D90 doesn't really compete with the K-7. IQ wise it is better, but everything else is in favor of the K-7.

Don't forget.. you can use any pentax lens on any pentax camera body. I've found some real gem lenses for a very cheap price that produced some really great images.

Here is a good K7 Review from the Pentax forums.

Hope this helped

Ok when you ask someone for advice people will tell you that their make is better and so on,, I used to have a 40D and then bought a K20D the K20D was better after comparing images and had much better detail also,, I had the Tamron 17-50 on the 40D and the DA 17-70 on the K20D and all this ISO BS does not mean anything as the K20D had maybe just a tad more but also much better detail than the 40D, now comes the k7 and everyone in here automatically says the K7 is no match for the D90,,
the K7 is much better than the plastic D90 and should be compared with the D300.
There are many good reviews on the K7 as here is one and don't forget to compare samples and you will see how good the detail of the K7 really is
and forget about all this nonsence on pixelpeepers

Canon 5D II, EF 24-105 f4 L IS, EF 16-35 2.8 L, EF 100 2.8 L IS Macro, EF 70-200 2.8 IS L II, Canon S90, Canon speedLight 580 EX II LowePro Sling Bag 302 AW, Photoshop CS5 Extended, Paint Shop Pro X3.

The Pentax has in camera Stabilization so you will not pay for stabilized lenses everytime you buy one. It is a beefy camera body also and so is the Nikon. I myself never cared for the Plasticky cheap feel of Canons. JMO.
see also Steves digicams also.
