Just got my entry posted:

Portraiture means getting a good model, so I gave Doutzen Kroes a call and she stopped by to do a quick shoot. (it's a Madame Tussauds)

nice one, but too heavy on the PP - leave some texture in her skin, she looks like a doll (or if the PP isn't the reason for that, tell her to remove the 10cm of makeup - she probably doesn't need it anyway :) )

*it's a wax model in Madame Tussauds*
(guess that explains the skin texture)
Boy, would I like to do a shoot with a supermodel like Doutzen!

You know who I would love to photograph? Patti Boyd..married to Harrison, and Clapton, an icon in her own right..I would just love to do a study of her. Gorgeous girl. Wonderful woman. That would be whom I would choose.

love,
p

Looking at some of the submissions, I think mine is very tame in comparison.

Image

The poles going through the head is unfortunate , but she was an unwilling model (in a pleasant way), and didn't want to move from her seat. I would have much preferred to enter this one but it was taken at a wedding in June.

The DOF was "simulated" using Gaussian Blur and masking (don't have any large aperture lenses, so I have to make do). I did smooth her skin with blurring and tried to keep some texture to it.

I was wondering when you were going to submit a photo Ed, and a lovely photo you have submitted too. It radiates happiness, three laughing sisters. I did wonder if they ever get fed up with their big brother and his camera  or are they always happy to pose. Saying that though i dont think they are posing in this, you have just captured a special moment. Nice one. sue :)

I agree, "It radiates happiness, three laughing sisters." so it got my vote this month.

I was also close to voting for either Daisy's or Welly's photos this month. I think they are both great shots too! A lot of nice shots this month, all look like real portraits to me:D.

Joren, I wish you would have kept your photo up..every single one of us start somewhere, and this is a great place to start...the way I look at it is I can only get better from here. I don't know what the theme will be for next month, but, I am going to try my best to participate...hope you will too! Love the pooch Lensbaby..and the contagious fun of the girls, podgeorge, makes me laugh just looking at them giggle...what a great shot..this is going to be a really fun month..so many outstanding photos.

love,
p

Hehe, that's nice to hear Patti...
I got some private messages of people who said the same! And idd this is the right place to learn!! But one more thing, there is just something with my pictures I can't figure out... They never look als sharp as I want them. Maybe with my new 50mm 1.8D lens I can get the sharp pictures I was looking for.

Thank you! So excited I won the OA, great!

I have a couple of themes in mind, and sent an email to Gordon with a suggestion/question. You'll hear what the theme will be as soon as possible, probably tomorrow!

Thanks again for the congrats and all the votes!
