Havent really put it through its paces yet, but I'll let you all know.

So far so good... 1.4 is almost a necessity outside after dark. I was using it at a dimly lit cafe and it worked great. It misses/hunts for focus at night though, which is I guess to be expected. Still, the HSM [swd] means I can manually focus any time.

When I finally decide on a DSLR model/brand, that Sigma lens is on my short list.

Not sure if it's already in the lens gallery section, but if not, please start a new thread for your sample images!

I think Panasonic/Leica has something similar, 25mm if I am not mistaken.

I am wondering how well they compare against eachother. I notice my 50mm macro is a little bit too narrow inside. Another prime would be a good idea in future.

I've been at University of Illinois-Chicago for the past 3 years for Mechanical Engineering.

I have a feeling the Panasonic is going to be sharper, but the Sigma has been pretty sharp. I can't imagine the more than doubled pricetag of the Pana is going to be worth it.
