Post subject: Memory Card Help Please?
PostPosted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 3:20 am
Hey everyone.
Well I recently ordered my first DSLR the other day, the Canon Digital Rebel XS. Well, I need a memory card!
Can anyone help me out? Looking pretty much only at 8GB's. I need something fast enough to be able to use the continuous shooting mode on the Canon Rebel XS at 3 fps spot on. I'm getting the camera tomorrow and will be digging into it the day after that. So I kind of need a memory card pretty fast. Don't really want to order and wait for anything.

Thanks!

Hi & Hello Warm Welcome to Cameralabs Forum! 8)

To answer your question If you really want faster SDHC Memory card I would suggest a Sandisk Extreme III SDHC 8GB. if you can afford it.

I think the Ultra II will keep up just fine if you're shooting jpegs.

My Ultra II can keep up with my D80 at 3fps shooting 10mb RAWs but the buffer runs out after 7 shots as opposed to 9-12 with 3-5mb JPEGs.

Thanks for all the fast replies.
Yes I've been looking at Extreme's and Ultra. Trying to find the best prices locally right now.
Ah, I see. Well I'll be shooting JPEG's on my Rebel XS when I use Continuous Shooting mode. Luckily, an unlimited buffer until I run out of memory. Unless I was shooting RAW, then it would drop to 1.5 fps and only let me shoot 4-5 images.
Is this one good? http://www.target.com/Lexar-8GB-SD-Card ... 0LSD8GBBBT
It's even available at my local store.
