I have bulit myself a small studio where i live i just have a problem when i taking the pictures i have some harsh shadows
I have positioned the lightstands on each side, one on the left, the other on the right - both directed at the subject. One light is pointed high, the other is pointed low.

what is the best setup?

Are you using diffusers like softboxes, umbrella's or white panels?

can you give some example photos of the problems for us to see exactly what is happening, and maybee a diagram of the layout?

yes some photo's would be nice. are you sure both lights are firing? are they equal wattage? what ratio are you using?

ask your model to tell you if both your flashes fire consistently.

Generic setups to learn can be useful to a degree, but not highly creative. If you go back to the basics of learning how to control 1 individual light, you can then combine individual lights to make your own setup.
