I'd love to learn how to do that with a strobe, chase jarvis' video left me craving for more! (it's the TECH kung fu I believe).

Hi Gordon,

How about a demonstration on how to set up custom White Balance and recomended white balance cards, which mode the camera should be in when taking the custom picture etc.

Thanks,

I might be able to do that, be it only for nikons though. I'll look into it after my final exams ;)

Thanks Citruspers.

Just to give you a bit more inside, my problem is not the cameral model or how to set up the custom picture, the challenge I find is taking the picture of a white page. When I fill the viewscreen with the white page the camera won't focus and it won't allow me to take the picture.

I am thinking of planning a lens guide, but it'll probably be written...

There are a few of us in the wildlife section that would be more than willing to answer any questions...if we can I'm sure.
Feel free to ask away.

Would it be possible to write a small tutorial on picking a cheap manual lens to go with your dslr? I have noticed old olympus manual lenses are really cheap (and probably have good glass) and would make a great addition to my setup if I knew what the limitations are and how to use them effectively. Just a suggestion.

I would like to see some more advanced photography tips. maybe a tutorial on event/sports photography. On your "about us" page the photo of you looks like you have a 200mm 1.8 or 2.0 maybe you could show us how to use one of those? I have recently discovered canon makes a large variety of super telephoto lenses (all the way up to 800mm). Maybe you could get a hold of a few of these and tell us their best uses?

Hi Tomis, everyone thinks that's a Canon lens becuase it's white, but it's actually a Konica Minolta model, a 300mm f2.8 as I recall. It was during the KM 5D DSLR launch event a while back (prior to the Sony takeover), and we had access to the photographers area around the pitch at Old Trafford football ground, home of Manchester United! (That's MUFC you can almost read on my vest, although it was a rugby match on that day).

Anyway, yes, it would make an interesting topic, although perhaps with limited appeal given the price of those exotic lenses, and also given my inexperience in pro sports photography!

Any future tips need to be more commercial too, that is to say, discussing how to use popular accessories, because otherwise they simply make no money.
