A quick question if I may... I'm pretty computer illiterate when it comes to online stuff soooo...

Just opened a flickr account and love how the IQ is. They mention though that any pics posted on another site should be linked back to flickr... I have no idea how to do this... they do give 2 codes to use.. the second one posts the pic directly here but does not create a link to flickr... the first code I cant get to work either way.. it doesnt link or show the pic...

any help would be greatly apprecieated.

You don't have to post a link back to Flickr, I'm pretty sure they are saying that just to encourage more traffic to flickr itself. If you do want to link back, I usually link manually to the page.

Something like would work:

[url=*link back to flickr here*][img]*Code flickr gives you goes here*[/img][/url]

html wont work on these forums. You'll need to use BBCode. When you post a topic, if you look under the emoticons on the left, theres Options in bold, and BBcode should be highlighted in red. If you click that, you get the code you can use in the forum.

For images, it's as Grahamnp said, to give you the final outcome of:

Change the curly brackets for square ones [ ]

Here's an example, for a picture from Animal Diversity Web <http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/index.html>

I've disabled BBCode. Next post will be the result.

It's an American bison.

Here's the result:

If you click on the picture, it'll bring you an ADW picture page.

Hope this helps!
