I agree - Metallica is a little too much when your trying to precisely cut out someone's face in photoshop, then all of a sudden he just starts playing those loud "lightning chords" :D

I disagree. Metallica's reputation with non fans or mild fans who like a few songs is a bad one. Though in the 80's they were considered heavy metal i wouldn't say thats the case. They have a good range of different style songs such as slow rock ballads, groovy, hard rock, and some soft metal.

listening to metallica when concentrating on something stops me from sluching.

Unfortunately every time I hear Metallica these days I'm reminded of their rabid pursuit of music downloaders through the US courts, aided - bizarrely - by Madonna and her entourage of Lawyers. In their early days I was lucky enough to see them play twice, once on the Master Of Puppets tour (surely one of the worst rock recordings ever) and again on their ...Justice For All tour (much much better, can you say "tight"?)

Currently playing :- Maroon 5 - Wake Up Call

This is an incredibly good song. Maroon 5 have been going for ages and it's great to see them finally getting the recognition they deserve. Their recent album, "It Won't Be Soon Before Long", is a stunning piece of work. Most notable is how I'm constantly reminded of "Songs In The Key Of Life" by the inimitable Stevie Wonder. All in, a superb album. Get it.

Rilo Kiley - Close Call. From their recent album "Under The Blacklight".

First I've heard this album though I'm a fan of their earlier work. This sounds good. Production is sweet (as always) and I'm a sucker for the girls voice. Like treacle.

John Fogerty - Long Dark Night

From the brand new album, Revival

Some are saying it's his best writing since '72. It's very good. Very good indeed.

Yeah, I get quite stressed just thinking of the price of the upgrade from CS2!

My ultimate chill-out track (for this month at least) is "Olas De Sal" by Zuell. If you don't know it then check out the 30 second sampler at Amazon.de or the 2 minute Real Audio sampler (poor quality) here . 8)

Hmm, it takes all sorts! Still, in the course of finding out what "Ordinary People" sounded like I came across a YouTube video. If you haven't already found it then it's here. Enjoy. 8)

I didn't take that picture mate, I wish. I'm just showing my workspace. I never use my own photos as wallpaper.

But you're close, Zorro!

Btw: Do you get (photographic) inspiration from listening to music?

Not really mate. I would like to buy myself an mp3 player though. You never know how music can influence creativity.
