I kind of dig this:
Image

was asked to resize it(sorry again!) - uffa, lost a lot of detail when I did. C'est la vie. ;)
Shot this in the parking lot of a gym on a whim about a month ago. Had my camera with me, which was a Pentax K20D at the time (since sold it and now have D700). Lens was a Tamron 28-75 2.8. Shot at 28mm, 400 ISO, f16, 1/45th of a second. Over exposed it 2 stops to blow out the sky and get the detail and exposure right on the tree and flowers. Converted it to greyscale - not sure what editor I used actually. Tweaked the contrast a bit

These widlflowers seem to represent Spring around here. They appear as soon as it starts to get warm.

This one was taken right after I saw this assignment when I was in DaLat (Vietnam) on the 9th of April. I had to kneel down and lean right towards the flowers (hence the focal length of 9.8mm); I prefer this over zooming for some reason. I was surfing the cameralabs forum on my laptop in a bar when I saw a bunch of pretty flowers in a park nearby.

Hi all,

I am new to the site and like it very much, especially all the advice in the forum. Thought I would take part in the photo comp, as seems to be fun.

I went to Devon for the weekend to visit family. Whilst there, we went to a place called Canonteign Falls, where I took the following:

Image

I just love the difference between the old and new.

Camera Model: 5DMKII
Lens and focal length: EF 50mm 1.2L
Aperture: 1.2
Shutter Speed: 1/800
Sensitivity:100
Post processing: I increased the exposure and cropped slightly using lightroom.

Spotted this fellow chilling and soaking up the sun... I know he loves the coming of spring as much as I do...
Olympus E510, iso1600, 1/40sec, manual focus om50 f3.5 macro at f11 (I think...) Image stabilize IS1....cloned out a couple of distracting spots and Neat Image noise reduction.

Just like a crocus poking up through the snow is a sign of the spring to come, these examples of growth promise that this recession will someday give way to a time of new investment and new jobs.

A spring chick. Well, mallard duckling anyway. Spring is a time of growth and new life. Applies to creatures as well as plants.
