Just saw a interesting piece on dutch television, about some ex-polaroid employees who are trying to bring back the instant film.

I'm just wondering if there's still a niche for it?

Although not "one box" could you not shoot a regular digital camera and use the direct print function with external printer if you need an image there and then? I'm not sure if there's any portable printers though...

Canon DSLRs: 7D2, 7D1, 5D2, 1D, 600D, 450D full spectrum, 300D IR mod
Lenses: EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2+SF, 70-300L, 100-400L, 100L, MP-E 65, EF-S 10-18, 15-85
3rd party: Zeiss 2/50 makro, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Sigma 50/1.4A, 150 macro, 120-300 f/2.8 OS
Compacts: Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

there was a cop on tv a few weeks ago on this subject.
He was telling that digital images were dogdy evedence and that these instant films where mutch more solid in these therms.
Besides that he was discussing their workflow and indeed instant photo's suiter theirs mutch better than digital images.

And after the cop there where a number of artists who worked exclusivly with the kind of film because it is not possible to post process and reproduce these.

So think that as a nice market this kind of film still has a large group of consumers.
