So what do you guys think of a monthly competition instead of a weekly one? I think it would allow more people to participate and judge and make the hosting of images easier to maintain. It also means we only have to come up with 12 subjects a year instead of 52!

Allright. Let the current one, about a book, run its course, and then you can start a monthly one. Mine will end on the 27th - a happy coincidence - which gives you a good timing to start yours.

To wrap up this one, it would be nice if the authors of each photo could speak a bit on the process of making their photos (original idea, settings and gear used, problems encountered, outcome). There's something to be shared and/or learned from each one, I'm sure. :)

The box of wine was only a joke, never meant to be serious. I thought it was fitting, however, that I needed to use my Oly 510 and a kit lens (14-42mm), instead of my new 70-300mm Nikon to get the close-in shot. I only use wine to cook with (no bottles) and that box had been in my refrigerator for about 2 years. The shot was taken with Olympus E510 14-42mm ISO 100 f5.6 31mm 2" no flash -- What no votes?

I'm happy to host the pictures on actual Cameralabs pages, but with deadlines and occassional trips, I wouldn't be able to update it daily. So if we went that way I'd suggest fortnightly, or preferrably monthly competitions to allow for timings...

Maybe they could be posted to the forum, and I could manually put them on an actual Cameralabs page as time allows...

I'd also suggest submitted photos should also be of the same size and as Luis says, should come with both the basic shooting details and a brief description by the photographer about what they were trying to achieve and how they did it.

PS - Brian, I really liked your wine box - I thought it was a comment on using a boxed camera kit...

I know, it's too late, but my wife just captured one that I would have happily replaced my own entry with!

Thought I might share...

Voting has already started - hence the poll option at the top of each page. Did anyone decide whether there should be a cut-off date for the poll?

Bob.

How fine is a 2007 wine? :)

Isn't it a little too young :? It may deserve a couple of years before being opened :!:

Back to the picture, I like the color of the wine inside the bottle, and the shade and the reflection on the wall. +1 on the votes.
