How far off were you and how much was the lens ?
The pics of the birds flying together - were they low altitude or significantly up ?

You must be quite content with the tele-lens, Kriss!
Just try adding a little more contrast as this is reduced by the long distance shots.
Very good tracking on pic #5 (and certainly #6 too) :)

It wasnt too far but not so close, and the lens was $120.

Have you tested the lense completely yet ?
I mean CA / fringing, sharpness, etc ?
More importantly does it AF on the D40(X) ?
