It's just my opinion that the optical quality of the 25mm pancake isn't much better than the 14-42 kit lens set at 25mm. So you are not gaining much by having the 25mm pancake, UNLESS you want to have it for portability and discreteness
It appears to me that the pancake is also quite a bit faster than the kit lens.
My 14-42 kit lens has a minimum of f4.7 at 25mm, whereas the pancake is f2.8.
Could someone tell me what this will mean to increased shutter speeds? For example, I took a dusk portrait last night at 25mm f4.7 at 1/40s. What speed shutter would I have obtained at f2.8?
Also, I imagine the decreased DOF may be useful sometimes
