Well, think yourself lucky, because here i get about 400kps, on a good day in the summer, and on a bad day in the winter we get about 100kps, thats just down, so think yourself lucky

it went to 3.97 from 2.66 on stock cooling in a very hot room with 10 seconds on super pi - it is miliseconds away from 9 seconds!!

I had 4.008Mhz but it BSOD >_<

Yes you want it running on all four cores, and to be certain its stable you want it to be running for quite a while.

I usually run Large FFT's and let it run for a several hours. If your OC can survive this then your going to be 100% certain that your as stable as running it at stock speeds.

I usually run prime for a day just to make sure.

Remember to use Prime95 25.5 or later. this one utilizes all 4 cores. 2 hours stable at full utilization is enough for me.

I believe the fave stress test at the moment is one of the linpack derived ones, of which there are several versions floating around. The claim is that linpack ones can find failures quicker than prime95, and will get things hotter faster too.

I believe Linpack will more likely uncover ram or northbridge related stability issues as it uses a very large data set and will stress the memory interface heavily. Prime95 tends to work on small data sets which will substantially of not completely fit in the CPU's cache and therefore stress the CPU itself more, but less the interfaces out. Personally I tend to do runs of prime95 AND linpack just to be absolutely safe.

Also I'd run memtest86+, at least 3 passes. That concentrates on the ram specifically which you should do as well particularly if overclocking that. I've been bitten before by a minor instability eventually tracked down to an obscure memory timing where the bios defaults were unstuitable. It would pass single runs, and might only show up one error an hour, but that is still one too many.
