Thanks for the info, it was very helpful. By the way I definitely decided to take K20D just body and I have some lenses for now, and later on I will buy whatever I need.

That is a very nice lens but unfortunately out of my price range. But it helped me a lot in choosing what I want. I will take just K20D body and in a couple of months I will probably get that lens too. Since you have good experience in choosing lenses can you tell me what do you think about this one, since I want to do some macro photography

Unfortunately, I have no experience with this lens.

Keep in mind a 100mm gives 150mm with a dSLR. Even for lens dedicated to dSLR, the old focal distance for film cameras (36 x 24 mm) is used. Since the sensor is smaller on a dSLR (23.4 x 15.6 mm), a 1.5 multiplier applies between focal distance for film cameras and focal distance for digital cameras. So, basically, you're going to have a tele-objective.

You may find useful information on  photozone, which is very interesting but rather technical. Here their  Pentax SMC-FA 100mm f/2.8 macro - Review / Lab Test Report, .

For a more user friendly approach, have a look a the many threads available in CamerLabs and, if necesary, open a new specific thread asking for feed-back on the Pentax DFA 100 mm f2.8 Macro :)

Fixed lens are said to be stronger than zoom, because there are no moving parts. The really nice aspect with a dSLR, you can add new lenses as you go and can afford  So that's a good strategy.

Good luck :)

Last minute :!:

Pentax store price list
smcP D-FA 50mm f2.8 Macro = USD 600
smcP D-FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro = USD 800
smcP DA 50-135mm f2.8 ED (IF) SDM = USD 1000

But amazon.com lists the Pentax SMC DA* Series 50-135mm f/2.8 ED IF SDM at USD 700 :!:

Good luck with your purchase :)

The best deals ever I found here, at least for the things I need. It is a camera store one block from my home

Pentax DFA 100 mm f2.8 Macro CAD $519.95 = USD $415.50
Pentax DFA 50 mm f2.8 Macro CAD $429.95 = USD $343.58
Pentax DA 50-135 F2.8 ED SDM CAD $929.33 = USD $742.63

That is with today rate, and here in Alberta we have only 5% tax comparing to the rest of Canada. And I was looking even online to find better deal and I didn't. There is no shipping cost, customs, or some kind of extra taxes that they sometimes charge you when buying online
