Hi
I have the canon 970 with canon ink in them and all the black and White photos i print seem to have a sepia like effect to them or slightly puplely tinge to them. I was wondering if this is canon or the settings on the printer

I might have the answer for you, but I need to know what programme you are printing from ie. Photoshop CS3/4, Elements etc.

i have Lightroom and photoshop cs3 but i have usally used lightroom to print but i could try cs3

In CS3, with the photo open, open print dialogue..next choose page setup, choose the appropiate media, tick the grayscale print option make any other adjustments as to quality and then click OK.
Next make sure that photoshop manages colours and not the printer, next click on arrow next to printer profile, pick working gray-gray gamma 2.2, click on print and everything should be fine, all my prints come out on B&W using this method and I don't get any unwanted colour casts.
