Hi folks,
Welcome to February's On Assignment!
The theme for this month is "Tension", as suggested by
mikeroch who won the December 2008 competition.
In Mike's own words: "The topic I am proposing is "TENSION". A single exposure with basic post processing permitted to enhance rather than radically change the composition. The image should speak for itself requiring little additional explanation. Contributors are encouraged to hard crop their original; allow the subject to dictate the format.
No cunning theme-bending please. A technically outstanding picture of a fluffy little kitten that has been shoe-horned into the theme with the text "my Tiddles gets really TENSE if she doesn't get her daily dose of Moggy-Meat" is a transparent device and unworthy of the forum."
So there you have it, the theme for February is "Tension", and as always the image you submit has to be taken during the month of entry – that is, taken during February 2009. Photos taken on an earlier date will be disqualified! And remember, all images submitted here must be
no more than 500 pixels on their longest side.
Good luck!
RULES!
1: The photo you submit should be taken during the month of the actual assignment - so for this month's contest, it must be taken during February 2009. Photos taken earlier will be disqualified!
2: You're only allowed to submit one image, and you can't change your mind once it's posted!
3: Images should be no larger than 500 pixels on their longest side.
As always, please exercise good judgement on what is suitable for the forum.
Please include a sentence or two with your photo describing what you were trying to achieve and if there were any particular challenges in doing so like, for example, any special exposure or lighting setup.
We're all enthusiasts here, so it's also great to see what equipment you used and the settings too. So please also include the following:
Camera Model:
Lens and focal length:
Aperture:
Shutter Speed:
Sensitivity:
Post processing:
Submissions will close at midnight GMT on 28th February 2009. The final poll will follow.
Please remember this thread is for submissions only and that posted images should be no more than 500 pixels on their longest side. If you'd like to comment on any of the submissions or ask any questions, please do so in the
February 2009 comments thread!
Thanks and good luck!
Bob.
