Well, heres the deal.

(If you don't want to read the sob story, skip to the bottom!)

Since I was like 4, I've had my OWN computer, e.g. I am the only person who uses it. To start with this was just for another computer to play Network Doom 1 on, which was great, but then it was just mine to play games on all the time. In 1998 my gran died, (myself, my mum and my uncle stayed with her to look after her she lived in my uncles house, long story) so my uncle moved into the room she was in, and then his room became the computer room, so my computer was promoted from the dining room to there. Soon after this, my mum never happy with the house started changing stuff again and made it a guest room, so my uncle got a desk built in his room to put his computer in, and mine, well this was the start of a .... well, there is no one word or phrase to describe what happened next.

My computer was put into MY ROOM!!! After this, long nights of gaming, sneaking on the internet with the second phone line, and downloading music. This continued for many years, until 2005, when my mother decided that I wasn't doing enough school work, I was missing homeworks (fair points) and made a computer room in the back of the house (yeah my mum loves to shift stuff about) and it was put in there...no more staying up really late or swearing at people on counter strike through the mic, and no more listening to music really loud. Since then, my PC has not been back in my room, although I do have another PC in my room which I don't really use, although I use my IBM thinkpad most of the time in my room.

What I am trying to get done now, is my computer back in my room and basically, get my room turned into a mini-photo-studio!

My idea was, get everything up here, my computer, the laptop, all screens into my room and set up nice and neat, and have it all re-orgonised for doing my photography stuff - but as of yet i've had no luck getting it passed the mother!

*** Anyway, this is basically a Post Your Workspace kinda thing - something every forum should have! ***

I'll post a photo tonight, just as soon as I have a tidy-up, lol.

Nice cable routing Antman. What's the steering wheel for? Live For Speed by any chance?

Zorro.

I think a nice sideline revealed by this thread could be 'how many of us have the sides of our PC cases off more than on'!

You don't want to race Live for Speed, GPL is where it's at ;) Sim racing has been my hobby for years although it has taken a back seat for the last couple of years. I helped to set up Race Sim Central and still help out there.

Nice to see someone else with a steering wheel. I've never tried a black Momo. The red one was nice but I stuck with my Ball Racing gear. I can't find a photo of my racing rig a the moment. I have a Pro Classic wheel, Speed7 pedals, GPL Shifter and Race Frame Pro. I spent a lot of money on all that kit (~£900), too much really especially when it has been packed away for the last 2 years.

Hi Ant, wihout going off topic here, be good if you could continue your thread about getting your camera cleaned for dust... particularly if there was any explanation as to why it got so bad...

Now back to the desks and cases!

Nah, I couldn't get into GPL I'm afraid. I've had some success with GTR 1 & 2 but my sim of choice has to be LFS, if only for it's online component which I think is one of the classiest implementations in any game. I've been using a Logitech DFP but after my second one packed in a few months ago I've been using the mouse. No, it's not easy. I won't buy another wheel in the future but I will look into buying an Xbox controller for sims. I think they can be configured to work with LFS anyway.

Nice lol! Dual Screens FTW!

Nice TT cpu cooler, not sure which graphics card that is 9800PRO or XT I think judging by the heatsink. Cold Cathods!! I got 3 aswell, but I'm thinking of removing them because cables get in my way!

I'll take a picture tonight of my "Upstairs/Downstairs" workstations lol.

Also get the head back on that razor!

I am going to take a guess you are a slight tech enthusiast...

1) RAM sticks lying about
2) You shave at your desk
3) Cold Cathods in your case + Side is off
4) Philps Screwdriver within 2 meters of computer

I have done all of these aswell, although I do have 2 precision screwdriver sets my drawer, for taking small things apart :D

I was waiting for someone to realise that. Not usualy though, lol.

Its a "Gainward 7900GT 512MB Golden Sample." The cooler is so by that it was about 3CM from the window. And a 110CFM fan 3cm from a window is not good, lol. So I have to pop the window out. I don't know where my case side has ended up in this pic lol. I'll be getting the new case on Friday or Monday though :) Yay.

I actualy had 4 CCLs in there, but they keep god damn blowing on me. Got 2 dead ones in draw, and one at bottom doesn't want to light up all the way sometimes :(

Head.....Razer.....Hmm now where did I put that. (Thought you were talking about my mouse / mouse pad for a second there)

Anyways, where are your guy pics? :) My desk was just put under investigation, now its your guys turn!
