I have a 400D with the sigma 17-70 lens and the EF-501.8 ll, i want to order the 70-300 IS NEW Monday, but want to know i see the FZ-50 is no good at high ISO with the lenses i have for the 400D will the FZ-50 match em in day light low ISO settings, if not i'll get the 70-300, but i had the Fuji S6500fd and bought it because in another forum they said it matched a dslr and to my supprise after i purchased it, my 400D was way better even in bright daylight, i just don't want to make the same mistake thanks..

Hi SpartanWarrior,

don't forget that even pictures in bright sunlight have shadows where the light is 7-10EV below the highlights. And it's there where you'll find noise even when setting the FZ-50 to ISO100.
The 70-300IS is a very nice lens. Go for it and forget about the FZ50!

Thanks for the reply tombomba2, that's what i figured as well, i am going to order the 70-300 tomorrow,, but you know yesterday my friend bought the 17-85 IS lens yesterday and we shot some test shots with his and my sigma 17-70 somehow i see the 17-85 is sharper and has better color as well, that really surprised me as the reviews say sigma is sharper
