OK, so I did make a decision, I bought a TZ5 for my P&S needs and I'll buy a separate DSLR later on, I thought I could get the best of both worlds in one device, I think that's not going to happen, so my personal conclusion is that I'll have some (rather) small P&S and as said later on a DSLR...

by the way, did anyone try the TZ5 1.2 firmware upgrade? any issues? my TZ5 is new, so I can't compare video performance ;)

Be sure to turn off continuous auto-focus for movies. It doesn't work, and it isn't needed anyway.

Hi, i've tried an-able the auto-focus while movie taking, it does not have much problem like others had descript and the auto-focus does a good job of keeping focus. Only when in low light or tight space then will the auto-focus be a hindrance but not to an extend of annoying. (Btw i had updated my firmware to 1.2)

Actually problem does arise when i off my auto-focus as whenever i've tried to zoom in while taking movie, it does always be out of focus.

Best if you could trial and error the function and decide which suite you best.
