I would like to use a Rode Videomic Pro on an FZ100 or 150 camera. I am aware of the need for a 3.5 to 2.5mm converter.

The other point at issue is. Is the hot shoe the standard size used by Canon and others?

In the FZ100 review Gordon mentioned others using 3.5mm external microphones. Would someone please advise their experiences with microphones other than the Optional Panasonic microphone.

Looking for the possibility of using the Rode Videomic Pro on both Canon and Panasonic.

Scroll down to the 9th video in the movie mode section of my FZ150 review and you'll find everything you need to know!

Can't speak for the FZ100, but it worked fine on the FZ150 and it's the same standard hotshoe size as most DSLRs, so the only adapter you need is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm one for the plug.

Just what I needed to know thanks. Perhaps this information should be in the FZ150 sticky.
