Fixed 3x Leica zoom lens - no specified focal length but I don't think it is too far of a stretch to assume it'll be something like a FF 24-70mm equivalent (12-35mm).

Note they rate this rumor as FT5, which is their highest rating. If it happens, this could be the affordable Leica for the rest of us!

I love rangefinder cameras.
Id wanted to buy a Minolta rangefinder from 1948, but didnt buy it.

However, I think if the price will not be too high, many people will buy it.

43rumors have an update claiming the lens will start at 24mm f/2.0! Rated only FT4 this time, so a bit lower but still darn high for a rumour.

Personally I read the 24mm part as an equivalent, as otherwise it'll be rather long. So combined with the previous claim of 3x zoom that could be 12mm-36mm f/2.0-f???. I doubt it'll be fixed f/2.0 across the whole range as that'll be one really serious lens with a cost to match. Even starting at f/2.0 is rather impressive!

Note by making this a fixed lens, not a removable one, the optical design can be easier. Don't expect a similar lens to be available on removable formats.

The more I hear, the more I think this camera wont be impulse buy territory. My guess would be it'll cost more than something similar in m4/3, and I wouldn't be surprised it if reached Leica X1 levels.

Maybe the downgrade to FT4 is because of the continued suggestion that there will be a Leica version which, as they suggest, leaves the Leica X1 between a rock and a hard place.
