 Post subject: TZ5 & TZ7 Focus Hunting
PostPosted: Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:59 am
I currently have a TZ5 and i do a lot of sports videos with my camera but i notice that it always goes in and out of focus which is no good, Obviously turning off C-AF is no good for me because i need to zoom in and out.

After watching a review of the TZ7 it looks like it does the same, Although when i have watched some YouTube video's of people using their TZ7 to zoom in and out it doesn't seem to really do it.

So please can someone tell me whether this problem does exist on the TZ7 or whether a firmware fix was brought out to fix it?

There was a firmware fix on the TZ5 but i found that it did not have much effect and that the problems with the focus on the video remained.

I don't want to pay out for a TZ7 if it does exactly the same thing.

For fast focusing on videos you need a camcorder....not a p&s

Yes! 100st post

Panasonic DMC-FZ18, Panasonic DMC-FZ28, Canon G5, Canon 350D, Canon 50D + BG-E2N
Tamron 17-50 2.8, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM,

I don't think you are allowed to take camcorders to football matches.

I've been looking at the following cameras but really do not know which one to go for:-

Samsung WB600
Canon SX210IS
Panasonic Lumix TZ10

The cheapest being the Samsung WB600 which is £199.99.
