Hello everyone

I'm looking for a P&S right now and narrowed my choices to the Tz10 and SD980. I know that both are different categories. The feature that made me lean towards the Tz10 is stereo sound during the movie recording and the ability to zoom. But I like the size of SD980 and it also has HD video.

I want a small camera: SD wins

I want good video : TZ wins

I'm not sure which is better in terms of picture quality.

Can someone help me out here and give me their thoughts on both cameras. Maybe some who tried both.

Thanks a lot

No one can definitely comment on the TZ10 yet as it's not out. Are you mistaking it for the older (but still great) TZ7?

PS - my TZ10 preview is here:

Hi gordon

I assumed its quality will be close to the Tz7.

Whats your take on my situation? Should I go with the more compact canon and sacrifice video options of the panasonic? or stick with the canon and its great size?

Is the tz10 video a lot better than the canon sd980? or is the difference negligible?

CBA, once again no-one can comment on the TZ10's quality until a final model is tested.
