Post subject: Whirring sound on E-510
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 12:23 am
Hi,

There is a buzz when you switch off your E-510 with the IS ON. This is supposed to be normal.

But does anybody have a problem with the motor/sensor buzzing when shooting with the IS ON? I seem to have this problem and its reallllllly annoying! Just wondering if this is normal. I wonder if my warranty will cover such issues...All help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

All...for those who might be interested...the buzzing sound thats generated by the system when the IS ON and while shooting is when the shutter speed is low...simulated by testing the liveview preview...

This shouldnt occur at higher speeds 1/20 or greater...

Will keep you posted...

ITs 100% normal

The idea is that the IS shakes to reset itself when you have it turned on.... The camera assumes it has moved during shooting and resets itself.

When off, the IS doers not shake, assuming it has not moved during shooting. All oly cameras do this when the IS is left on. Dont worry about it.
