I've splurged approx 600 USD on my Olympus EVOLT E-510 camera (including the standard lens kit: Olympus Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 and Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6) inspired by the excellent review “signed” Gordon Laing :D .
I am wondering if Olympus 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 is really worth 400 USD :?:
The price ($400) tells me that the lens should be really good. Could any owners of the Olympus 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 lens could reply to this post and tell me about it's performance :?:
What about Olympus 50mm f2.0 Macro (splash proof and dust proof)? Is it worth 450 USD :?: Can somebody recommend me other lenses that I should have in my “collection”? Thanks

The 14-54 is a really good lens, but the difference in IQ with the 14-42 is not big. The main differences are:
- splash proof;
- a little more reach (54 instead of 42 mm);
- faster while maintaining quality (f 2.8-3.5 instead of f 4.5-5.6);
- better built.

If you like nature photography, you could consider the 70-300. Great reach for a relatively small lens.
