I own two Oly dslr, and with my E620 I had an accident when there was a firealarm at the hotel I was staying at in London this summer. I grabbed my passport and my cam and went out immdediately as the alarm went...and as we walked down the stairs somehow in the bustle the battery door got unstuck and fell somewhere. I could never find it again, and now that I am home I wrote to Olympus Sweden asking what a replacement would cost...and they said 1900 skr (= 259 US dollars or 162 pounds)(and they wanted me to send in the camera to them). It is an itty bitty bit of plastic I need...does anyone know how to get hold of such a battery compartment door a tad cheaper? Considering I paid 500 pounds for the whole cam last summer, paying 162 pounds feels a bit steep. Not to mention to be without the cam for a few weeks...I am trying to build a business so I just cannot do that.
I am very tempted to stick with the rubber band I use right least it only cost me 10p....
Please help me...I love my Oly but right now I am shocked and not very happy.

I am beginning to think they never read my mail properly. I did write and specify I wanted to buy the part, not having my cam repaired...nevertheless they told me what a repair would cost, incl sending the cam in...and did not mention anything abt selling spare parts.
Thank you Atomic, your help is much appreciated!
