I purchased an E-520 with the 14-42 lens kit. The lens image quality is really poor in long distance shots. In closeups with the new Fl-50 flash it works great !

I read that only three lenses are 100% compatible, but im interested in buying the 12-60 lens and in the begining it was not 100% compatible.

Does somebody know where i can see what lenses are really 100% compatible with the E-520 ?

Thanks for any help !

there has never been a zuiko digital lens produced that is not compatible with the e-520. i think when you say compatible you are talking about the imager AF in Live View mode. every lens will perform the regular AF. don't count out the 14-42 lens just yet, it's a very underrated lens (unless you need it for low light work or super shallow depth of field).

Thanks a lot ! So you think the 12-60 will perform great on my E-520 ?

I saw a review and they said that the focus is slow in the lens-camera combination of a 12-60 and a E-520.

Does anybody own a E-520 and a Zuiko 12-60 lens ?

Thanks for any help.

i own the e-520 and the 12-60. the ONLY times i've had focusing issues is in very low light. in good light (day light) the focus is fast.

As has already been said, this only applies to live view.

I think it's still fast, but it's just that it works even faster in the E3.

Gordon reviewed the 12-60 http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Olympus_Zuiko_Digital_12-60mm_SWD/ here.

The only compatibility issue was that since the lens is relatively large, the e520 popup flash doesn't raise high enough, and you can get some barrel shadow using wide-angle + built-in flash. A hotshoe/external flash may be better if you're using flash photography

I had an E-510 with 12-60 for about a year and the results were great. Not all that much better on the E-3.

I have the E-520 and 12-60mm.... Autofocus is very fast in daylight as someone has already said. The low light is where is struggles... All in all it I noticed a dramatic difference in the lens from the standard lens.
