I dont know the difference, but I have the Metz 48 and I love everything about it.

Lasts forever on 4 batteries, quick recharge time allows me to shoot continuous shutter usually, and costs significantly less than the Fl-50 even though it offers all the same features and only 2 less meters of guide number.

only draw back is the weight. pretty hefty unit.

i have a metz 58 and 2 fl50rs.

the only negative thing about the metz (and it's not a major negative at all) is the menu system can be tricky to navigate fresh out the box. spend a little time with it to learn the menu and you're good to go. the fl50r has a great ease of us: turn a dial and you're in the mode you're looking for. when running in rc mode, both work great.

hi again,

i've been to a local shop and asked about the flashes...

they told me that the best option would be a FL-36R ( also moneywise)

the FL-50 is a Prof flash and the 36 a more alround

i dont know it but the guy who told me this story it does make sense to me

any other opinions are very welcome !

Bye !:)

What are you going to be using the flash for work-wise? The Metz 48 is in a similar price range to the FL-36R and numerous people have said the Metz is better. I would recommend you to go for the Metz.

And also if someone knows if one for oly can be used to shoot with canon or pentax, or it's only for Oly?

the metz does indeed have the same RC modes, it's just slightly confusing on the menu system to find it. some older batches may not be able to use the wireless modes until you download new firmware into the flash.
