Nikon D300 body is almost down to 1600EUR (incl. 19% you-know-VAT). so both bodies (E-3 vs. D300) are comparatively priced.

I just checked and 1738 euro is the cheapest now. So, it's going down, but let's wait and see till when they are really available.

Although the E-3 is a great camera, I'm particularly excited about the new offerings of lenses. I love my E-500, and have been looking for a new fast lens for it (been holding off replacing my kit lens for these announcements). Both of the standard zooms are excellent. I'm sure the 14-35 will be very expensive. Can't wait to see the price point of the 12-60. So now my decision is between the Sigma 18-50 F2.8, Zuiko 12-60F2.8-4 or the Zuiko 14-35F2.0. I already own the Sigma 30mm F1.4. Any thoughts on which lens I should be thinking about to complement by 30mm?

Depends on what you like to shoot: wide landscapes or interieurs, Parties in cramped rooms, architecture all require wide to very-wide lenses. In this case: the shorter the better. And with a crop-factor of 2x I personally would go for a zoom starting at 12mm.

ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 SWD $1,000US Nov 07.
ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 SWD $1,200US Dec 07.
ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-35mm f2.0 SWD $2,300US Q1 2008.

above is what I have read recently ..yikes! $2300US for the 14-35.. I was looking at a combination of E-510 and an upgraded lens... but..

Question:
Will the new Olympus SWD lenses autofocus with the E-510 / E410?

It will be a tough one, I dont think I will pay much more for the D300 over the E-3. But the D300 has a superior AF (On paper anyways) but I will be better briefed before I buy in the NEW YEAR and hopefully Gordon will have either buy then

here's a hands on preview of the e-3. It's from a competitor review website, so feel free to remove if this is unwanted.
