I know there's the E-P1 coming, and apparently more cameras of the same type. But is it the beginning of the end for 4/3, in favor of micro 4/3?

I can only repeat this rumour as I have no idea...

Then again, smaller camera users will always want a step up, even if the lens compatibility isn't there going from micro to full, brand loyalty might be enough to get a foot in the door.

I don't think that the performance of EVIL cameras will match a true SLR for a while.

Super small cameras are good for certain applications, but certainly I would not be doing any professional work with such a diminutive body.
