heey guys
i am just new here ,i am so glad to be with u all

now,i am deciding to buy E520 ,and with 2 lenses
the lens kit 14-42 & 40-150 mm

and i want to have a Macro lens ,the decision that was avaliable for me was about the 35 mm & 50 mm macro !!
but i got a good deal with the Sigma 70-300 as i found a stock would sell it NEW for $100 !!!
and also i dont want to break my budget ,i am still new
so my questions is :
-is the Sigma 70-300 Capitable with the E520 ?do i need to buy an adapter? and if so what adapter shall i buy ?

-The Sigma 70-300 is it a good lens for macro using the E520?
or there may be some Conflicts when using it ?

please guy be a little specific cuz i am still new in camera world,so i want to get information as i can

Sigma does not make it's 70-300mm lens for the Four-Thirds mount. I have heard however that the Olympus 70-300 is actually put together by Sigma but I dont know the truth of that.

Anyhow, the OLYMPUS 70-300mm is going to cost you aproximately $350 for a new one. However, before you purchase, consider if you really need that much telephoto, and if 150mm does not satisfy you. 150mm is quite a lot really on an Olympus camera. The only time I've ever used my 70-300mm was at an airshow and I will probably be selling it soon.

so now i put in my considiration the 35 mm macro lens
i found good deals in Ebay , 1 used for 58$ with no scratches
but i dont know will it be good or not
i mean maybe it could be deception or something like that??
i just need a trusted web site to sell used lenses to buy the 35 mm!!

The 35mm lens is not a very expensive lens because it doesn't really bring much to the table. Actually I am not very familiar with it, and I don't know anyone who has one, but I'd guess that its not very popular because of its relatively slow aperature for a prime lens. F/3.5 does not have any advantages over the kit lenses.

IMO if you're going to spend money on a lens, you can find a used 14-54 2.8-3.5 for not much money at all, and enjoy an even faster aperature at 35mm and a very good macro performance, as well as a weathersealed lens and a very good zoom range.

If you want macro performance, go with the 35mm. But a better all-around choice is the 14-54(I). You can probably get an used 14-54(I) for about $280-320. There is a newer version of the 14-54(II), which is a whole lot more.
