The E3 is not a 2009 camera, and last year it was up against rivals like the D300 which destroyed the E3 in specifications.

Hmm I seem to recall that you did a side by side comparison of in body IS vs lens IS with the 510 and a Leica lens and you came to the conclusion that the in body was slightly more effective than lens IS. Does this mean that the pana/leica IS was just not as effective as canon and nikon IS?

I wonder if the effectiveness of the IS in Oly cameras differs depending on the lens used ...

The only difference could be focal lengths. I guess if a lens improperly delivers the focal length information to the camera, the IS would be off... I don't know if that could even be a problem though, or how often that happens, or how much such a small difference in compensation can make in the image.
