Hi Kriss, that's a pretty old DSLR - back from 2001 as I recall!
(hmm, nice coincidence that, speaking of NASA and all...)
It was a collaboration between Nikon and Kodak using a modifed Nikon F5 body. It was only 6 mpixels, with a 1.3x crop factor, compared to the 1.5x factor of today's Nikon DSLRs.
The big difference though was price. As I recall, this camera cost about $8000 USD. So it makes the 6 mpixel D40 look like pretty good value!
I bet you can get them on ebay... (although DX lesnes won't work with its slightly bigger sensor)
