For me d80 was the right choose now i only need so save up some money and in end of june its buy time :)

Of course going very serious d200 is not shabby either seen som pretty amazing stuff with it.

ultimately who is behind the camera decide the outcome of the picture not the camera in some ways.

I Remember using a fuji f304 compact zoom and thought it was brutal :D

It's simple, the D200 is the best camera on the list. It has the best specs and is also the most expensive.

No I'm not. The D200 is the best Nikon on the list supplied. The best Nikon is probably the D2Xs. You can pick one up for $4,245.95 from B&H Photo.

You can find information about the D2Xs on this page:

http://www.cameralabs.com/cameras/Nikon/

We haven't reviewed it, but we did do some tests with the slightly older D2X which I believe has the same sensor and image quality. You can see the results against the D200 here:

http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/NikonD200/page4.shtml

Note there are three results pages.

You can also see what it looks like compared to the D200 here:

http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/NikonD200/page2.shtml

It's pretty big and heavy!

Kriss, the D200 is much better than the D70.

The D2X(s) is bigger because it incorporates a bigger battery and a portrait grip. You can get an optional portrait grip for most DSLRs which makes them this big. It makes them easier to hold on their side.

You haven't told us why you're unhappy with your D40 yet.

No i am not unhappy with the D40, i love the D40, its easy and fun to use, its just i was really looking foward to buying a D70, but for some reason i dont know why, i ended up with the D40, but for a couple of days i got used to it.

Hi.

I own a D80 now and have done for about a month. I initially was looking at the Pentax K10D and the Canon EOS400D but after sampling both in a shop and then going to another shop to try the D80 there was no contest. Regardless of the feature count it was the only one of the three that actually 'fitted' my hand. This shouldn't be underestimated. My camera feels like an extension to my arm, rather than some wee 'gadget' that has to be handled delicately at all time for fear of dropping it. I have big hands though. If you don't then size is maybe a moot point.

For the record I also bought the optional battery grip as well and of course this contributes greatly to the handling, but even with it removed, the camera feels good. Reassuringly substantial. I got the body with the 'kit' 18-135mm lens which despite it's size actually weighs less than the body so the whole thing feels very well balanced.

What do people mean when they say "D80 Body Kit"?
